Manualify Terms of Service

Effective date: [DATE — set when published]
Last updated: 2026-08-03

1. Who and what

These terms govern your use of Manualify (the "Service"), operated by [FULL NAME or BUSINESS NAME], [CITY], The Netherlands ("we"). Contact: [SUPPORT EMAIL]. By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Manualify is

Manualify helps you archive your household devices and their documents: manuals, receipts, warranty information and notes. It is local-first — your library lives on your device — with optional accounts for backup, household sharing and AI-assisted features.

3. Your content stays yours

You keep all rights to everything you put into Manualify. You grant us only the technical licence needed to store, sync and display your content to you and the household members you invite — nothing more. We do not use your content for advertising or AI training.

4. Documents found on the web — important

Manualify can search the public web for manuals and related documents and, when confident, attach them automatically. These documents come from third parties. We cannot guarantee that a found document is correct, complete, current, or genuinely from the manufacturer. Always verify against the manufacturer's official information before relying on a document for anything that could affect safety, health, property or warranty — including repairs, maintenance, electrical or gas work, and disposal. Manuals are provided for convenience, not as professional advice.

If the community catalog or a search result contains a document that is wrong or infringing, use the in-app report function or contact us and we will review it promptly (see §9).

5. AI features

AI-assisted reading of photos and documents is probabilistic: it can misread a model number or misidentify a product. The app asks you to verify AI-filled details; you are responsible for confirming them. AI features require an account, are subject to fair-use limits, and can be disabled in Settings.

6. Accounts and households

You are responsible for your account credentials and for whom you invite to your household. Household members can see and — depending on role — edit the shared library. Keep your email address current: invitations and security notices go there.

7. Fair use and abuse

You may not use the Service to: store or distribute unlawful content; attempt to poison the shared catalog or interfere with other users' data; probe, overload or circumvent our security or usage limits; or resell the Service. We may suspend accounts that do, where feasible with prior notice. Usage of paid third-party features (AI reads, web search) is subject to quotas; exceeding them limits those features, never your access to your own local data.

8. Price

The core local app is free. Paid tiers, when introduced, will be described at the point of purchase with their own commercial terms; these Terms continue to apply.

9. Reporting problems and infringing content

Report suspected wrong, harmful or infringing documents via the in-app report function or [SUPPORT EMAIL]. For copyright complaints, include the work, the location in the Service, and your contact details; we remove or disable access to infringing links promptly on valid notice.

10. Availability, changes, ending

We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted operation. Because Manualify is local-first, your library and backups remain usable on your device even if the online Service is unavailable or discontinued. If we ever discontinue the Service, we will give at least 60 days' notice so you can export everything. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law (including for intent or gross negligence). Otherwise, our liability for damages arising from the use of a free service is excluded to the maximum extent permitted; for paid tiers, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event. We are not liable for damage resulting from reliance on third-party documents contrary to §4, or from loss of local-only data you chose not to back up.

12. Governing law

Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in [DISTRICT, e.g. the founder's court district], without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; meaningful changes will be announced in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you continue using the Service after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can export your data and stop using the Service.
